Op 1 augustus jl. verscheen een speciale uitgave van de Prison Service Journal, het tijdschrift van HM Prison & Probation Service in Engeland en Wales, over de levenslange gevangenisstraf. Deze detie staat in het teken van bijzondere groepen, zoals jongeren, jongeren die al mededader voor moord zijn veroordeeld maar de moord niet zelf hebbeen gepleegd, vrouwen en levenslanggestraften met een whole life order (een tariff for life).
